The Radiator Company Colours & Special Finishes

Colour can add an extra element of individual style and design, creating a personal and unique result. Many of our designs are available in a large selection of RAL colours (188 internationally recognised paint colours) and a choice of Special Finishes.

If the RAL colour you require is not shown below or you have any other questions, please get in touch with us. Use the live chat below, call us on 01772 346933 or use our contact form.

Please note that due to the painting/manufacturing process and screen tolerances, the colour (including white) of a finished radiator may vary slightly from the colours represented on the website as well as from our Special Finish & RAL charts. It should also be noted that if the same type of Radiators are ordered and produced, they may also differ in finished colour from any previously ordered.

RAL Colours/Special Finishes

RAL Colours:

These are our standard radiator colours - depending on your chosen range, we have 188 different colours to choose from, whether you're after contrasting colours to create a bold statement or sympathetic colours so your radiator blends into your wall.

Developed in the mid-1920's, RAL is a European color matching system with a range of carefully selected colours used for paint and specialist coatings, it is used across many industries and enables a consistent and recognised reference. We offer 188 RAL colours including, as our standard white, RAL 9016 Traffic white, a bright porcelain white.

Using colour can enhance your interior, contrast colours to create a bold statement or use matching sympathetic colours so your radiator blends in to your wall.

We use a robust, polyester powder coat paint, which is applied either in our factories or by our specialist painters based in the UK, to achieve a long lasting, durable finish.

When selecting a RAL colour we recommend that you always choose your final colour from one of our RAL or Special Finish Charts for the best representation of the colour and quote both the RAL number and the name provided when ordering.

Ancona Lacquer Finishes:

This finish highlights the raw basic steel product showcasing the manufacturing marks created by the processes of welding and sanding to deliver an industrial look.

Each radiator will be unique, with the random position of the weld lines on the column tubes and the level of the final sanding.

The clear Bare metal option uses a clear lacquer which allows these characteristics to be the hero and maintains the natural steel finish.

Out tinted Brass or Copper lacquers add an extra dimension providing the opportunity to include these industrial chic models in a wider selection of interior schemes.

Cast Iron

Our cast iron ranges are available in a beautiful, burnished or high lustre, polished finish and a clear lacquer finish that shows off the raw beauty of the -natural cast iron for a more industrial look. Created by hand in the UK, these processes involve multiple stages; for the clear lacquer finish, the radiators are first given a light sandblast to reveal the raw metal and remove any base primer, a top coat of clear hardwearing lacquer is then applied to prevent rust developing.

For the polished and burnished finishes first, a complete coat of black paint is applied to protect hidden, hard to access areas of the radiator and to provide a highlight for the visible polished areas. The radiator is then polished on the front, sides & tops of the sections, whilst the rear & more difficult to access areas between the sections remain black. Then a top coat of lacquer is applied for long-lasting protection.
