Here at Just Radiators, we are big fans of delectable interior design and take pleasure in following interior design and décor trends all year, and watching how people incorporate them in their homes.

We’ve often said that radiators can be as central to your interior design as the lamps and rugs, and, believe it or not, there are radiator trends too! We have been keeping an eagle eye on these interior design trends to bring you everything we’ve learned from our research for a fresh and fashionable home.

Whether you're on the lookout for a living room radiator or a space-saving set of vertical radiators. We have everything you could ever need

Texture

Materials such as ceramic stone, faded marble, brick and charcoal coloured backdrops and accessories are big this year due to the preoccupation with texture in 2018’s interior design trends. So, expect to see floors, walls, tableware and decorative items made from these natural, rustic materials, offering an old country look to the home.

An example of this is the beautiful matt DQ Fender Towel Radiator, as shown here paired with a brick wall and a natural sink to create the perfect rustic, country feel.

How we see that this trend has influenced radiator fashions is through the increased popularity of a matt finish, as well as the industrial texture of the cast iron radiators. The beautiful textured look of cast iron radiators as well as their vintage charm has meant they’ve never been out of fashion, but they’re back this year especially in a big way.

A richly coloured cast iron radiator is a gorgeous centrepiece for your room if you’re looking to add more texture. There are also victorian radiators that can find themselves in any period piece.

Bold Colours That Pop - With A Dark or Pastel Décor

Textured Cast Iron Radiator Against A Red WallDark wood furniture has crept into all the 2018 interior design trend conversations – stepping away from the pale wood and pastels of the

Hygge and other Scandi trends which influenced the whole industry in recent years. As such, bold, rich colours alongside dark wood is huge this year - where retro glamour meets decadent chic.

With ultra violet being announced as Pantone’s 'Colour of the Year', it’s no surprise that we are talking a lot about vibrant colours that provide the wow factor and a stark contrast with other darker and more textured décor features.

Pictured left is a perfect example of this trend; you have the bold, blood-red wall, with the gorgeous black textured cast iron radiator sitting prettily in front of it, giving this space a gloriously decadent look with the rich colour contrast.

Splashes of bold colour against a light background are also big this year – showing the emphasis is in fact on the boldness of the colour rather than the background. This works beautifully as a radiator trend because of the variety of vibrant colours available for your heater!

Metallic Touches and Mirrored Effects

This trend has been creeping back in for a while but has now become a big

deal in 2018 interior design, along with shimmering surfaces.

The impossibly elegant metallic touches and finishes are heavily influenced by the 'art deco' design period, in the same way as geometric shapes have reappeared everywhere, especially in the trend of the ‘feature wall”.

Mirrored effects make a room look much bigger, so this is very popular décor strategy for those decorating a smaller space. This space-maximising trend also applies perfectly to this year’s radiator fashions.

For example, these radiators add an ultra-modern, mirrored chic to the room – and a metallic glow which suits any other interior design style. They instantly make the space look roomier and eye-catching. Check out our mirrored radiators.

Tone on Tone – Monochromatic

This trend may has well have been designed for radiators. It was already being mentioned a fair bit last year but this year, it’s officially one of the top interior design trends!

The idea behind this trend is having two room features in front of each other either the same colour or two shades of the same

Teal Living Room

colour. As you see here, the wall and the fireplace are both painted in similar shades of teal to create a stunning visual.

This trend is so elegant! It works in any home, as part of any décor style and you can even just adapt it to one feature wall or corner. This is how your radiator can be so perfectly incorporated into your home interior design.
